Jazz Is Art

JAZZ is ART: As part of the Music Gallery project, we are launching the open call Jazz is ART, inviting interested artists to propose artworks that represent interpretations of Jazz or music in non-audio formats. Three artistic proposals will be selected and funded with 7500 lei each.

The Jazz in the Park team created the Music Gallery exhibition with the desire to use new formats to bring people closer to music. The exhibition is set up as an art gallery and includes an informational section about jazz, starting from the origins of the genre, with many historical and social particularities, as well as a multimedia section, featuring various listening, playback, and music interaction equipment.

We believe that music is more than just sound: it’s a social phenomenon, it’s interaction, it’s a message. The feelings evoked by music can also be found in other forms besides sound, and through Jazz is ART, we aim to help the public discover these other aspects of music.

The competition aims to identify and fund up to 3 artistic works based on the themes presented in the competition rules.

The works can be in one of the following formats:

The selected and developed artistic works will be presented in an exhibition that will be organized in Cluj-Napoca from October 4 to 26, 2024.
